New IRS Regulations Amend Compliance Monitoring Requirements

February 25, 2016 – Today the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a notice that amends the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) compliance monitoring requirements to revise and clarify physical inspection and certification review rules. WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a final rule today to equip communities that receive HUD funding with data and tools to help them meet long-standing fair housing obligations in their use of HUD funds. June 22, 2105 – HUD Notice H 2015 04 Methodology for Completing a Multifamily Housing Utility Allowance.  

This notice provides instruction to owners and management agents for completing the utility analysis required at the time of the annual or special adjustment of contract rents and when a utility rate change results in a cumulative increase of 10 percent or more from the most recently approved utility allowance.
